A few days ago, I was having a nice fb chat online with a fellow videographer. He told me that he was not happy with the way his wedding video was done.
Thus from then on, he decided to embark on this journey of wedding videography. It was not the same reason why I started but though seems quite similar. The only similar part was that both of us started to be really involved in this wedding industry only after our wedding.
However, it was never the issue that whether I hated or disliked the video. I love it. It had those wonderful moments. However, I was only very much interested on how it was done. A good videographer friend from CNA (CHANNEL NewsAsia) has always been inputting ideas and knowledge to me. A lot of encouragement came from him. Those were the early days when we started shooting videos onto a VHS or Hi-8 tapes….damn (am I allowed to swear on my 1st blog) …damn…that’s it! Damn it! There was no color monitor. You can only see the footages in black & white on the eye-piece viewfinder. It can “boot up” like a pc, alright. There is always this distinct “music” of the tape loading, recording and ejecting. Those were definitely the days.
